PREVIOUSLY ON BTS: FEBRUARY 3-9 LOOK AHEAD, THE WAY IS SHININ’

Vroom vroom! Let's get into J-hope's fancy cabriolet and drive back to where our journey started this week – the Map of the Soul: 7 'Outro: Ego' comeback trailer.

Wherever my way

It is time to look back – for all of us, not just for BTS.

The music video for the comeback trailer Ego, was released on February 3rd and has racked up 28 million views since then. Member J-Hope takes the viewer on a journey to explore the Ego, the most pure version of ourselves.

If we connect the three music videos for Persona, Shadow and Ego, it is safe to say that the Persona is the version of oneself you are putting out in everyday life, like the bright version of BTS, who is loved by everyone. The Shadow is your dark side, where your fears and nightmares are. This is the part you try to hide or prevent from swallowing you up. Your Ego is your core, the pure and real version of yourself. By connecting all these versions of yourself, you have created your whole being into existence.

Okay, that was one hell of a deep analysis! Make sure to check out our full analysis of Shadow and Ego to catch up on everything.

Connect with BTS

“Connect, BTS”, an art project collaboration between BTS and several artists around the world, reached its final destination: New York City. A large, aluminum and steel sculpture was unveiled on Tuesday 4th February in New York City as the final element of “Connect, BTS”. The interwoven, nest-like structure was designed by Antony Gormley. He is widely acclaimed for his sculptures, installations, and public artworks that investigate the relationship of the human body to space. If you missed out on the project and the five cities they took place in, stay tuned; our upcoming ARMY MAGAZINE Issue 9 will feature a more in-depth analysis and review of each city's event.

Let's communicate with the community

BTS' agency Bighit Entertainment also held a one-hour Corporate Briefing with the community on February 4th, to discuss future plans concerning BTS, TXT and their new girl and boy groups. There was some very interesting news on upcoming world tours and new content. We, at ARMY Magazine, could not contain our excitement! What about you, ARMY?

Dear little purple walking man

Ticket sales for the USA/Canada part of the Map Of The Soul Tour started this week and Twitter was alive with buzz and excitement. The sales were divided into three parts this time. First of all, people who purchased the official ARMY membership were able to sign up for a special pre-sale. Then, those who signed up for the Ticketmaster's Verified Fan Presale went into the queue. After those two pre-sales, the general sale began. We hope that after a stressful and exhausting process, ARMYs got their desired seats.

Jimmy and Chimmy

Exciting news! BTS will visit Jimmy Fallon for The Tonight Show again! The official website of the late night show stated that, "it will undoubtedly be a major event in late night television" and teased that BTS will be the focus of the whole show, playing games and surprising fans on the street. Furthermore, they will perform a song from their upcoming album – BUT the website did not confirm which song.

Hot Topic

The famous merchandise seller Hot Topic announced that they will sell new BTS Character merch. There are currently three t-shirts and sweaters available, ranging from $32 to $40 USD. If you are addicted to the cute characters from the House of BTS, you should consider getting your hands on these clothes.

The Afrodance

Moves from the IDOL dance choreography were mentioned on the latest episode of Tracks by the French-German television channel, ARTE. The video is primarily about Afrodance and how elements of this dancing style have spread in the world of pop culture.
