Following the release of BE, BTS has put out so much content that it is hard for ARMY to keep up! As expected of a BTS comeback season, the boys have had amazing promotional performances and videos, as well as new achievements and records, all of which are only well-deserved. ARMY, keep yourselves updated here on ARMY Magazine.
BE’s success
BE sold more than 2 million copies on Hanteo, reached number one on iTunes in 96 countries and debuted with more than 36 million streams on Global Spotify on its second day of release, surpassing the debut of their previous album MAP OF THE SOUL : 7. The title track Life Goes On achieved 92 number ones on iTunes, debuted at number one on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, surpassed 80 million views on YouTube and debuted at number three on Spotify Global with 6,450,392 streams, as of November 21.
As if we weren’t already feeling deliciously attacked by the Life Goes On Official MV, Big Hit dropped another version on November 22 called ‘Life Goes On’ Official MV : on my pillow, letting us see the boys filming together in a bedroom. This same day, BTS was the most streamed artist on Global Spotify, with 62.12 million streams and 5.93 million listeners.
Only a week after its release, BE had sold more than 200,000 units in the United States, and the title track, Life Goes On, had sold more than 100,000 units. The album also debuted at number one on Gaon Weekly album chart.
Following the release of BE, BTS’s Spotify monthly listeners rose up to 33 million, marking a new peak for the group and the most monthly listeners for a Korean act on the platform. Meanwhile, BTS surpassed 13.3 billion total streams on Spotify.
On November 26, another version of the Life Goes On music video was released with the title ‘Life Goes On’ Official MV : in the forest, where the members sang along together in a relaxing atmosphere in the forest.
Updates from Min Yoongi
On November 21, Yoongi surprised us by coming on VLive. He talked about his condition and what he has been up to after having his shoulder surgery. He said that his main purpose was just to say “hi” and let ARMY know that he’ll eventually come back happier and healthier than ever. We’ll keep cheering for your recovery, Yoongi! He then continued to update ARMY with selfies and cute shows-up to the group’s promotional activities.
AMAs
The American Music Awards took place on November 23. BTS won both awards they were nominated for, taking home Favorite Social Artist and Favorite Duo/Group. They were also the last performers of the night, with their brand new song Life Goes On and their hit single Dynamite. They all showed their amazing vocals and rap, and the show itself was beautiful. The stage was located at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium, where BTS did their Korean concerts before the pandemic, making it a very emotional performance filled with their signature color, purple. The boys shone on the stage with their bright, colorful suits, their strong presence and flawless dancing, and of course, they stole the show.
What BTS wants, BTS gets
On November 25, BTS became the first Korean pop artists to receive a nomination for a Grammy - yes, a Grammy! They are nominated for the category Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with their song Dynamite. The same day, the members shared their emotions and moments of euphoria with ARMY on social media. Out of clear excitement, they tweeted “Ohmmmmmmyyyyyyyyggghghhhhhhhgggggggggdhdhsjsixudbslsogbdsisgshdbxidjdbdidhdifjfiri.” Later, BTS came on VLive to share this huge achievement and honor with their fans, naming it “We love you, ARMY.”
The Late Late Show with BTS
On November 24 and 25, BTS appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden. They started off with Life Goes On, which they performed beautifully, the set making it even more heart-warming to watch. The next day, BTS performed Dynamite on the show, which had just received a Grammy nomination. The performance was very high scale with many different sets - one being an airplane!
These are just a few of this past week's BTS events, but we are more than happy to be able to enjoy the beautiful and comforting music of BE. Comeback season is not over yet, so stay tuned for more updates on the boys and keep buying and streaming BE, ARMY!
