This week has been a blast for BTS and ARMY who were spoiled by new content related to the promotion of BTS’ 4th Japanese album Map Of The Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~ . At the same time, ARMYs had a field day when updated posts of the Naver blog “Flower Smeraldo'' and its tweets from the user testesso were released. Its consequence was that every time BTS members were online on any social media platform, ARMYs became suspicious.
V tweeted a picture of himself with friend and singer Peakboy with the caption “자 시작해보자~,” which means, “Ok, let’s try to start~.” ARMY became excited, thinking that he may be working on a song for his mixtape. More pictures were posted by Peakboy on his Instagram account.
Jin melted ARMY’s hearts when he tweeted two selfies of himself with a cute caption “석자닝” (“Seokjining”), only being more proof that he’s Worldwide Handsome.
On July 12, Twitter account @bts_bighit tweeted a link consisting of all seven members’ playlists of their favorite songs on YouTube Music. On the same day, Olympiastadion Berlin’s Twitter account tweeted the picture of the stadium lit with purple lights in honor of BTS with the caption “See you hopefully next year @BTS_twt”. A concert was supposed to happen on this day as part of the “Map Of The Soul Tour”.

From July 13, BTS carried on with their appearances on Japanese TV to promote their new Japanese album Map Of The Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~. They were interviewed on “ZIP! Showbiz, Bahriya ZIP!, Ichimoni and Sukkiri” and performed Stay Gold on “Sukkiri.” On “CDTV Live!,” BTS performed Your Eyes Tell for the first time, a song produced by Jungkook that will be included in the Original Soundtrack (OST) of Japanese film “Kimi no Me ga Toikaketeiru” (“Your Eyes Tell”) which is the remake of 2011 Korean film “Always”.
The second part of Run BTS!’ episode “BTS Gamers” was released on July 14, and it was, as usual, chaotic and hilarious, with pro-gamer Jungkook being the main highlight.
On July 13, GQ Japan announced on Twitter that BTS will be in the latest issue of the magazine, which will be released on August 25.
Two Bangtan Bombs were released this week, one on July 11 and the other one on July 15. Both of these videos show BTS members on the set of the Boy With Luv music video being their goofy selves and relaxing.
On July 14, Billboard announced that it will no longer count merchandise and ticket bundles on the Billboard 200, Hot 100 and other album and song charts. This is something that a lot of Western artists will get affected by whenever they release an album or a single, but this won’t affect BTS at all.
On July 15, Reuters wrote an article about the mobilizing power ARMY holds. A lot of Twitter accounts related to fields like research, academia, music etc. were mentioned in this article, including ARMY Magazine.
UNO Mobile Game made many ARMYs curious when they posted a picture of a purple umbrella on Instagram. The post was captioned with “Everything you need for a rainy day”.
Map Of The Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~ was released on July 15 at midnight KST, and from a sonical and lyrical perspective, the album is very cohesive and worth listening to (please stay tuned for this album’s review on ARMY Magazine’s website).
At the 21st National Assembly in South Korea, President Moon Jae-in said, “from K-Pop that includes BTS & K-Contents like “Parasite” and other cultural areas, our nation’s capabilities and mature civic awareness are both amazing & admirable.”

All in all, this week was, as usual, busy and chaotic. Hope every ARMY is having a great time listening to BTS’ new album while being busy with their lives. We purple you!!!
