HYBE Exhibition Final Stop: Malaysia

Have you ever wanted to visit HYBE INSIGHT but were unable to get a ticket because you lived in another country? Yeah, that sounds like a lot of us. Luckily for some international fans, HYBE’s latest exhibition, The Daydream Believers, took a trip across multiple countries in Asia, including Japan and Taiwan, and has now landed in Malaysia for the summer!

The Daydream Believers, 꿈, 마침내 is a special exhibition that highlights the artists in HYBE LABELS, “who dared to dream and made them come true with unwavering commitment and sacrifice.” It features not only BTS but five other K-pop groups within HYBE. Since traveling to other countries, the exhibition has added fromis_9 and &TEAM to their roster. Fans will get to enjoy an immersive experience through these artists’ behind-the-scenes journeys on becoming international K-pop idols.

The exhibition allows the viewer to experience unique storytelling through photography as well as view some costumes and stage props. There are three sections that allow patrons to film the rooms. The first room is a backstage photoshoot room which includes a lit up makeup vanity, a rack with garment bags, and picture collages along the wall likely used for inspiration for the makeup artists and costume designers. As you walk through, one can really feel the hard work and dedication it takes to be able to bring every comeback’s concept to life onstage.

The next showroom is a dark projection room that screens through various photos of different idol members of HYBE. This room is meant to personify the dream of becoming an idol and the steps it took to get there. These dreams are expressed through lyrics that circulate on the screens along with pictures of those who likely sang those lyrics. The final room has a photo display of the HYBE artists. There are screens throughout the room for each of the HYBE groups. Fans can guess the member that shows up in a blurry version before clearing out and cycling to the next set of pictures. Afterwards, there are more sections in the exhibit that aren’t allowed to be recorded.

Once patrons make their way out, they will get a chance to write love letters to show their support for their favorite groups and/or members which will be displayed on a board within the exhibit for others to read. There are also Life4Cut Machines that will allow guests to receive physical photostrips of their day at the exhibit. Of course, there is a plethora of merchandise available as well, some of which may be seen at older HYBE exhibitions that are available in the Malaysia stop.

The Daydream Believers exhibition is a unique way for fans to connect with their favorite HYBE idols. In addition to that, it is being housed within Lalaport alongside SAT K-Pop Carnival, a weekend carnival showcasing all things Korean. Fans will get to visit booths, eat lots of Korean food, participate in workshops, and more. This carnival will be running alongside the HYBE exhibition for as long as the exhibit is live. Malaysia is expected to be the final stop for The Daydream Believers exhibition tour. It’s also a way for HYBE itself to gauge how many fans there are in Malaysia and possibly in the surrounding area. With any luck, this will mean more exhibits, shows, and events in Malaysia, which will be a win for everybody! Those who are able to visit can now show their support at The Daydream Believers exhibition in Lalaport until September 1.
