Previously On BTS: October 3 - 9 BTS Shines on Charts like Angels. It's Savage in Mikrokosmos

Hello ARMY, it's time to review the past week again. Let's get right to it!

On October 3, Jimmy Fallon expressed his heartfelt gratitude for BTS and ARMY. We love you too, "Chimmy" Fallon! BTS week became the 'Most Social Week' in The Tonight Show's history, ending with the boys performing Dynamite in roller skates! Here's to ARMYs dreams coming true.

Bonus footage from Ask Anything Chat was released where BTS answered fans' questions in their usual, humorous manner, reminding us of SUGA's words that they ‘have become comedians'.

For anyone in need of a 'study along with me' video, there’s a pre-recorded Log(ON) live of RM & JungKook working silently that was uploaded to BANGTANTV on October 5. ARMYs reported to use it while studying. This was followed by a Bangtan Bomb of a phone call with Bang Sihyuk about Dynamite being at No.1 on Hot 100 for two weeks in a row. Their call, cheesy and sweet, had Bang calling the boys the group who "defies belief".

“In The Soop” Episode 7 behind the scenes released on October 6.

MTV EMAs voting started with BTS nominated in 5 categories: best pop, best group, biggest fans, best song (Dynamite), and best virtual live (“BangBangCon: The Live”).

It seems ARMY never falls short of BTS performances. On October 7, we were treated with them performing on Radio.com. It’s astonishing how BTS always manages to make a song sound and feel new with each performance. They performed intimate and relaxed versions of Make it Right, Mikrokosmos, and Dynamite, making ARMY swoon again.

On October 8, BTS became the youngest recipient of the Van Fleet Award from The Korea Society in recognition of their contribution towards promoting the bilateral relationship between South Korea and the USA. Legends, who?

“In The Soop” final episode released alongside a Bangtan Bomb of BTS enjoying some donuts.

To celebrate Hangul Day, Big Hit Edu uploaded a beautiful video compilation of ARMYs writing the lyrics of Mikrokosmos on October 9.

“MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E” promo

An adorable TinyTan tutorial video on how to enjoy the home concert and two teasers were uploaded on YouTube. Pre-orders for official merch started and some special merch with availability of delayed single-view streaming for ticket holders were announced. An online concert checklist updated. Schedule for BTS POP-UP: MAP OF THE SOUL online stores and showcase was released.

BTS were especially active across all the social media platforms throughout this week in anticipation of “MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E”, including TikTok, Twitter, and Weverse.

Chart Updates

Here's a list of this week's major achievements on BTS’ way to worldwide domination:

  • Savage Love (BTS remix) debuted no.1 on Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and became BTS' first #1 on Pop Radio

  • Chicken Noodle Soup crossed 200M views while DNA surpassed 1.1B views on YouTube, becoming BTS' first MV to reach this milestone

  • MOTS: 7 sold over 1M units in the USA & is now eligible for RIAA certification

  • Boy With Luv and Spring Day passed 200M on Gaon, BTS being the only group to achieve this

On Billboard:

  • Dynamite is at #2 on Hot 100 (6th week), #2 on Global 200 chart and #1 on Global 200 chart excluding USA. It also ranked no.1 of this week's top selling songs in the USA and has spent the most number of weeks on Digital Song Sales chart so far this year

  • BTS extended their record of staying no.1 on Social 50 to 199 weeks

  • Filter hit no.1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, making BTS the first artist to have 23 no.1 songs on the chart

BTS and Brands

Fila released photos promoting their “Project 7” and its behind the scenes videos. Samsung dropped their Note20 promotional videos in which BTS looked dapper, and ARMYs joked about whether Samsung was promoting the phones or the boys! Either way, we are not complaining. Samsung also announced they’ll be playing Dynamite on TVs in retail stores.

Other things you may have missed..

It's October now. Fall is here with its crisp air and fallen leaves. We are still wading through rough waters and trying to just BE. It's not easy, but at least we have each other. So, stay connected and stay safe. Until then, 아미 보라해
